Essay topics:

The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use

The pie charts give information about the percentage of Australian household energy use and the greenhouse gas emission from such energy use.
Overall, heating (including water heating) consumes the majority of Australian household energy use and therefore, releases most greenhouse gas emissions. Cooling, on the other hand, takes up the minimum percentage of both household energy use and greenhouse gas emission resulting from such action.
To begin with, heating and water heating account for up to 72% of the household energy use and consequently give out a majority of greenhouse gas emissions. However, heating takes up to 42% of energy use but the gas emission released from such action is surprisingly low at 15% while the percentage of water heating remains almost the same around 30%. As for cooling, the energy use and the greenhouse gas emission from such action take the trivial amount of 2% and 3% respectively.
It is also noticeable that refrigeration, lighting, and other appliances do not use up a large percentage of household energy. In fact, the statistics show that they only consume 7%, 4%, and 15% in turn. Nevertheless, the greenhouse emissions resulting from them take all twice as much the percentage as the energy use.
