The chart below shows global sales of the top five mobile phone brands between 2009 and 2013.
The bar chart compares international revenues of 5 world-prevalent brands of phone over a 4-year period
Overall, throughout the examined period, a same upward trend was seen in the sales number of Samsung, Apple and ZTE, while other figures from LG and Nokia decreased
In 2009, Samsung sold 250 million phones, while Nokia dominated the phone market with round 450 million. In contrast, after 4 years, Nokia’s phone sales plummeted remarkably to reach not over 250 million units and the figure for samsung doubled to reach its highest point at 450 million
It is apparent that the mobile phone sales for Apple and LG had reverse trends, although both phones sold less than 150 million units in each of these three years. Apple’s sales rose steadily, while LG’s sales declined gradually. Finall, ZTE remained the least popular phones despite observing a slight growth in its sales number over the period
