The bar chart illustrates the daily production of oil in six Middle East countries
from 1990 to 2010.
(Overview) Overall, oil production in all the countries increased during the given period, except
in Qatar, and Saudi Arabia remained as the largest oil producer after two decades.
It is particularly noticeable that Saudi Arabia was the biggest producer of
oil throughout 20 years whose production was 8.2 million barrels per day in 1990, which had
nearly doubled by 2010. Iran came second with a daily production of 2.6 million barrels in 1990,
which rose markedly to 4.2 in 2010.
The production of oil in Iraq and UAE was roughly the same, rising from
approximately 2 million barrels per day in 1990 to just under 4 million barrels per day in 2010.
Kuwait followed closely with a daily volume of 3.5 million barrels in 2010. Qatar was reported
to be the smallest oil producer where the production remained almost the same (2 million
barrels a day) despite a negligible growth in 2000.
