Some people prefer to do the same job in the same place, but others prefer to change jobs frequently. You should use specific reasons to compare the advantages and disadvantages of both sides.
While lifetime employment is favored by some individuals; others tend to switch jobs on a regular basis. This essay will evaluate the merits and demerits of both decisions.
Permanent jobs can do wonders for people’s lives. Attaining more experience with their occupations as time flies, workers would possess greater opportunities to get promoted for their dedication and loyalty. Besides, not only do permanent employees get a steady paycheck but also benefit from retirement savings plans. Nevertheless, having a steady job may have pernicious effects on productivity as workers might be fed up with doing the same thing frequently. Moreover, as the job is steady, the schedule is fixed, and limited alterations can be made.
Changing jobs is also both advantageous and disadvantageous. Regarding the pros, job-hopping is such a feasible aid to accumulating a wide range of skills. This is derived from the fact that as for having been exposed to different working environments, it’s much easier to adapt and be flexible, which are both valuable skills. Additionally, the timetable is usually flexible so employees can easily balance the quality time for their families and careers. However, job hopping does pose some disadvantages. Moving jobs frequently, we may lose a sense of belonging, which is a feeling of being surrounded by those who we trust and like. Moreover, frequent job changers may lack in-depth knowledge which can be acquired through many years working in the same corporation.
In conclusion, since each of the discussed choices exposes unique strengths and weaknesses, my verdict is that people should consider their abilities and interests before pursuing their careers.
