The first picture illustrates the layout of the ground floor of a museum and the second picture shows some of proposed changes in the museum space in 1990 and in 2010. Overall, the significant change will be made in terms of the function of the rooms in the museum.
The most striking alteration has been to the right hand-side of the map where the Archaeology gallery has been converted into two separate rooms, the first room was called children’s interactive zone and the second room has been called Poster and display area. The gift shop near the stairs have been expanded in size and adding café in the service. At the same time, the natural history room and local history room have been remained over the year.
Another major change is the amenities od the first floor of the museum. The space between gift shop and natural local room has been used for a lift since 2010. However, the reception counter has been moved nearer to the entrance while the statue has been changed to the centre of the ground floor. The stairs opposite the entrance has been unchanged where the walk and the entrance of each rooms in the right hand-side of the map was removed. The last innovation of the museum was the entrance which has been doubled in size.
