The pie charts depict local government expenditures on social infrastructure in 2010 and 2015.
Overall, the government invested most in four sections: education, healthcare, pensions, and defense, in comparison with the others: welfare, interest on borrowing, transport, culture, and leisure, and other facilities between 2010 and 2015. While there were larger areas such as social assistance and interest on loans, there were smaller areas such as education, health care and defence. However, pension expenditures remained at 19 per cent throughout the period.
In more detail, the pie chart of government expenditures showed that the largest portion was education and health care, with 24% and 21% respectively in 2010. The Pensions and Defence Sections accounted for a total of 36%, at 19% and 17%. The small others included welfare, interest on loans, transportation, culture and recreation, and the remainder made up only about a third in total.
Furthermore, there were no changes in the distribution of expenses in 2015. There were slight declines in sections of education, healthcare, and defense that consisted of respectively 21, 20, and 14 percent. Spending on welfare and interest on borrowing increased modestly by 5 percent in each one, respectively 13 and 10 percent. The others took over about 3 percent.
