The provided diagrams illustrate some alterations made to West Park Secondary School in a span of 6 decades commencing from 1950.
From a cursory glance, it is evident that the school went through a number of noticeable changes, except for the playground. After the transformation, the car park was the biggest feature of the school.
In 1950, the surveyed area was divided into 4 equal parts: houses, school, farmland and playground. After 30 years, the farmland was transformed into sports field, while houses was demolished and replaced by car park and science block. On the other hand, the playground remained unchanged and the school became the main building with a science block on its left.
An insight into the diagram illustrating the school in 2010 reveals that after antoher 30 years, the car park was extended whereas the sports field underwent a dramatic decrease in size. The playground was slightly narrowed while the main building of the school and science block witnessed no changes.
