The line graph compares the daily amount of electricity was used in winter and in summer in England, while the pie chart describes how electricity power was used in four different ways in a typical English home.
The line graph exhibits that electricity demand in winter is significantly higher than that in summer. Besides, the pie chart shows that more than half of the electricity is consumed for the purpose of heating rooms and water.
According to the line graph, in winter, English uses the most power, reaching over 40,000 units, on the 22nd hour. While in summer, the electricity demand rises up to 20,000 units in the noontime. However, the lowest units for winter are slightly over 30,000 units and for summer are about 14,000 units, and both of them fall on similar hours in the early morning.
Based on the pie chart data it can be clearly seen that room and water heating require more than half of the total electricity usage (52%). A washing machine, kettle, and oven use approximately 18% of electricity, and the other two categories: lighting, TV, radio, and vacuum cleaners, food mixers, electric tools use approximately 15% each.
