The graph below shows the average number of UK commuters travelling each day by car, bus or train between 1970 to 2030
The line chart gives information about the proportion of UK commuters travelling each day by car, bus and train from 1970 to 2030. It is clear that cars which were used daily by UK commuters were the most popular transport. In addition, while the number of people who used car and bus increased remarkably, the data of bus decreased gradually. In 1970, approximately 5 millions UK commuters went for work by car each day, meanwhile the bus and train were used by about 4 million and 2 million people respectively. Over the fifty-year period, the rate of UK commuters travelling each day by car jumped significantly to nearly 8 million people and the figures for train reached to 5 million. Commuters used bus for work reduced slightly by about 0,5 million people.
By 2030, the number of people who travelled by car and train will grow to 9 million people and 5 million people respectively. By contrast, buses are expected to become a less popular choice, with only 3 million users.
