Studying the English language in an English-speaking country is the best but not the only way to learn language.
In this day and age, the ability to utilize the English language has become so important that learning how to master it has become one of the focal points of every education system. It is said that learning the language in an English-speaking country is the most efficient way but not the only way to master it. From my experience, I strongly support this statement as it could not be any further from the truth.
On the one hand, it is a no-brainer that surrounding yourself with an English-speaking environment is capable of bringing to the table extraordinary results. By studying in such advantageous conditions, one is bound to develop a knack for listening and speaking English similar to that of the natives. In addition, pronunciations, vocabulary, and grammar will surely be improved through everyday interactions. Furthermore, the origins and usages of common idioms and phrasal verbs can also be understood by exploring the local cultures. Therefore, it can be said that this method will provide the most natural progression to improve one's command over this universal language.
On the other hand, not everyone can afford such luxury. Instead, other methods can be useful in one's journey to master English. A common approach to study this subject is by attending language centers, where artificial English-speaking environments are simulated. Another one is studying online courses, which excel in scheduling conveniences. Moreover, studying by oneself through documents and books is not only free but also fun. However, the most important factor you need to succeed is the determination to learn. With it, even in unfavorable situations, you can still perfect your English skills.
In short, while studying in an English-speaking environment is the most beneficial means, it is certainly not the only way to master the use of this international language.
