The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade*-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries.
The tables depict information about the sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and banana in five different countries in Europe (UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden) from 1999 to 2004.
Overall, the UK and Switzerland were the two countries that on top of coffee and bananas sales while Sweden had the least sales in both products.
In the first table, it can be easily seen that Switzerland had the highest sales of coffee which doubled than that of the UK. In 2004, each of the countries had an increase in sales. While Belgium and Sweden's sales raised slightly from 1999 to 2004, that of the UK and Switzerland had a dramatic increase. Especially, the UK whose sales increased more than 10 times in 2004.
In the second table, Switzerland had a high sales of bananas than other countries at 15 million Euros in 1999 and the number of it raised to 47 million Euros at the end of the period. While Switzerland, the UK, and Belgium's sales had a rapid increase, Denmark and Sweden experienced a different trend, a decrease. Denmark had a dramatic drop in bananas sales which was about a half decrease in 2004.
