The line graph demonstrates the shares of old citizens who aged 65 and over in 3 various countries namely, Japan, Sweden and the USA over a decade between 1940 and 2040.
Overall, it is manifest from the graph the percentage of senior population experienced a upward trend in all countries in the period provided.
To be more precise, in 1940 percentage of the aged were less than 10% of the population for those 3 countries. In 1940 and 1960 USA and Sweden's ageing population rose by 5% while, the figure for Japan dropped around 3% . However, after 1990 the peopotion senior population in Japan continued increasing till 2030 and it is expected ( anticipated) to reach a summit with 28% in 2040.
Turning to the Rest of countries, the percentage of aged people 65 and over saw fluctuations between 1990 and 2020. Finally, despite this fluctuations in the share of USA and Sweden's Senior population ,it is forecast to constitute of
18% and 26% in 2040.
