The pie charts below show the devices people in the 18 to 25 age group use to watch television in Canada in two different years.
The charts illustrate the figure of devices used by Canadians in the 18 to 25 age bracket to watch television between 2009 and 2019.
A glance at the graphs reveals that while the proportion of mobile phones, flat-screen TV and tablet used followed an upward trend, the opposite was true for the others. Also, it is apparent that the use of flat-screen TV surpassed that of conventional TV to become the highest.
Looking at the pie charts in more detail, we can see that the percentage of conventional TV used by Canadian for viewing purposes was the highest in 2009, at 34%, almost double that of laptop and desktop computers, at 19% or thereabouts each. Over the next 10 years, the use of conventional TV plummeted to a mere 4%. Meanwhile, the figure for that of laptop and desktop computers witnessed a marginal decrease to about one-tenth in 2019.
Turning to the remaining categories, in 2009, while 15% of people chose mobile phones to watch television in Canada, flat-screen TV, and tablet constituted nearly the same percentages, at approximately 6% each. 10 years later, the figure for mobile phones was almost twofold that in 2009, at roughly one quarter. In the meantime, the statics for flat-screen TV and tablet underwent a considerable rise to 27% and 19%, consecutively.
