The table gives information about the width of forest area measured in millions of hectares recorded in six continents from 1990 to 2005.Overall it can be clearly seen from the chart that while Asia and Europe saw an upward trend during the period, the four remai
ning parts of the world including Africa, Oceania,South Amercia and North America showed the opposite. What's more, North America remained its top position for the whole time.
The figure for Asia started at 576 millions at the beginning and rose to 584 millions in the end despite a small decline to 570 millions in 2000. Meanwhile, Europe began with 989 millions then increased steadily to 1001 millions in 2005.
In contrast, Africa and South Amercia witnessed a dramatic decrease within the period l with the former fell from 749 millions to 691milions and the latter 946 millions to 882 millions. While the Oceania dropped slightly 2 millions during the time, the figure for North America began at 508 millions and remained equal in 2000 and 2005 ( 705 millions)
