Overall, agricultural use takes advantage of the other two purposes in most regions, whereas a little amount of water is used for domestic affairs.
Looking into the charts, apart from North America and Europe, it is notable that agricultural use takes the lead in the four remaining regions, ranging from 71% to 88% of the total amount. In contrast, Europe and North America put aside relatively little proportion of water for agriculture, with 32% and 39% respectively. However, North Americans and Europeans used water mainly for industrial purposes, with the percentage of 48% and 53% accordingly. This number in the four remaining areas was trivial, accounting for 7% to 12% of the total usage. Lastly, domestic use of water in six regions is insignificant, with the figures all being under 20%.
