The charts show the reasons why people travel to work by bicycle or by car.
The two pie charts compare the figures of different reasons why people commute to work by bicycle or by car.
In general, it is apparent that the percentage of people cycling to work for maintaining health and protecting the environment is the highest, while the figure for citizens commuting to work by car for being comfortable makes up the biggest pie among factors.
Looking at reasons for riding a bicycle to work, it is noticeable that the proportion of the community that chooses the unpolluted vehicle for staying healthy and reducing pollution is the same at 30%, which becomes the most dominant factor. While the percentage of workers cycling to work due to no parking problems is half of that. In addition, 13% of people cycle to work because it is free, just 1% higher than the faster than driving reason.
In contrast to this, the percentage who prefer driving to work by car because it is more comfortable and relaxed is 40%, making it become the majority element. This figure has also doubled the reason for travelling over a long distance to work. Meanwhile, there is a similar ratio between faster than driving to work and carrying things to work conveniently, accounting for 14%. Making up just more than a tenth belongs to feeling safe and secure during the journey to work.
