Making sugar
The diagram gives information about the steps involved in making sugar from sugar cane.
In general, there are seven steps in total, starting with growing sugar cane, and ending with plain sugar. It can be seen that the production of sugar is both by hand and by machines.
At the beginning of the process, farmers grow sugar cane until they are mature enough to produce sugar, at least 12-18 months. The next step is that sugar can is harvested in one of two ways. Both it is manually gathered by a small knife, and collected by means of a tractor.
After that, sugar cane is put in the crushing machine to separate fresh juice from sugar-cane dregs before being purified through limestone. Sugar juice turns ti syrup by being heated in an evaporator. Then, the syrup undergoes a process the centrifuge to separate sugar crystals. Finally, sugar is cooled and dried in some kind of vats.
