The picture below shows the recycling process of wasted glass bottles.
The diagram gives information about the steps involved in making new bottles from recycling wasted glass bottles.
In general, there are three major stages in total, starting with the collection of wasted glass bottles, and ending with selling bottles to retailers or supermarkets.
At the beginning of the process, people gather and receive the wasted glass bottles at the collection point before being loaded into the truck to deliver to the glass recycling facility.
The next stage is that waste bottles are rinsed with high-pressure water to remove dust, and excess water, and then sorted out into three categories: clear, brown, and green bottles. After that, they are delivered to the glass factory to break into small glass pieces before being burnt in a furnace from 600 to 800 degrees Celcius to let it melt into the recycled liquid glass and new liquid glass. This liquid is molded into its bottle shape.
In the final stage, workers refill with beverages or water, which are used for different products and sold to retailers or supermarkets.
