The chart demonstrates the total volumn of Male and Female participating in higher education, both part-time and full-time study schedule, from 1970/71 to 1990/91
Depicted from an overview perspective, the number of people participating in full-time education increased gradually in the given period. Another thing to point out is that the number of Woman entered further education surpassed the number of Man in 1990/91.
Take a closer look at the full-time male participants number, a rise from 100.000 people in 1970/71 to 220.000 people in 1990/91 could be witnessed. Following the same trend, the total number of female full-time students also saw an increase of 170.000 people, from 60.000 to 230.000 in the time range 1970/71 to 1990/91. The awareness of the importance of further education throughout the years were a crucial explanation for this trend.
In the year 1990/91, the total number of female student in higher education achieved 1.330.000 people, with the amount of part-time female participant reaching a peak of 1.100.000. On the other hand, the number of Male participating in higher education in 1990/91 were only 1.230.000, 100.000 less than the Female number, indicating that higher education has become a more common thing than it was in the past, especially for woman.
