The line graph illustrates the bananas price in four various nations namely Japan, France, Germany, and the USA from 1994 to 2004.
Overall, Japan and the USA witnessed an upward trend, whereas the opposite trend was true for the others. Noticeably, the price of bananas in Japan was the highest almost all of the time.
Regarding Japan, starting at 1.9 $ in 1994, the price increased substantially and reached a peak of 2.9$ a year later before plummeting to 1.9 in 1997. Thereafter, the price of bananas in Japan recorded a wild fluctuation between a low of 1.6$ and a high of 2.2$ over a four–year period from 1997 to 2001. This was followed by a recovery to over 2.5$ at the end of the period. When it comes to America, there was a slight rise to 1.2 $ in 1995 before leveling out at this price in one year. From then onwards, the bananas price in the USA remained stable at around 1.1$.
Regarding France and Germany, the two nations stood at 1.6$ and 1.4% respectively. Three years later, the former stabilized the price; whereas the latter’s price oscillated in a narrow range from 1.3$ to 1.5$. Later on, a drastic fluctuation was experienced in both countries, especially in 2001 the price in France was higher than in Japan. In the last two years, Germany leveled off its price at about 1.2$.
