The chart illustrates the proportion of fuel utilized in the transport sector in 6 European countries compared to the EU average from 2009 to 2010.
As can be seen in the graph, Slovakia, Spain witnessed the decline in fuel percentage while the opposite was true for Italy, France and Greece. It is noticeable that EU Average fuel use was higher than all countries, except Slovakia.
In 2009, Slovakia saw a peak in the figure of fuel used, standing at roughly 9%, whereas the lowest was for Greece, at over 1%. Moreover, the proportion of fuel consumed in EU average was 6%, higher than Italy, France, Australia and Spain.
Likewise, Slovakia was the most used fuel in 2010, at 6,5% compared with the European Union average of 1,5%. This figure was lower than the fuel used in Australia, which was the same as Italy at approximately 5,3%. Plus, the remaining countries were the same in 2009, with Greece decreasing at 2%, Spain at 3% and France at 4,5%.
