Mars
The lecture and the passage discuss whether there is some living forms on Mars or not. In the passage, it gives three discoveries about this topic, but in the lecture, all of them are controdicted by three reasons.
To start with, the author suggests that people can see some small fossils on the meteorite that is similar to the shape of bacteria on Earth. However, the lecturer refutes the argument and claims that the small fossils are just look like the living things on Earth. With different direction to view these fossils, they may change and they are not in proportion.
Moreover, the reading part mentions that some chemical compounds found in the meteorite exist the bacterial origin. Nevertheless, the listening part challenges that they might be the something relevant with volcano because there are a huge amount of volcanos on Mars.
Lastly, the article illustrates that researchers find a magnetic mineral in the meteorite that is the same as the magnetite grains appeared on Earth. The lecture cast doubt on it and argues that the magnetic field on Mars is weak, so that the bacteria cannot follow it. Therefore, this discovery is useless and there is no living sources on Mars.
