The line graph illustrates the recycling percentage of four classified materials ( paper and cardboard, glass containers, aluminium cans and plastics ) over 30 years from 1982 to 2010.
Overall, the ratio of all materials increased over the given period. From the start to the end of the period, the proportion of paper and cardboard was still the most popular material, while people least reduced plastics.
With regards to the ratio of paper reduced, it began at approximately 65% in the 1982, which fluctuate moderately and reached a peak of the four-fifths 12 years later, fell dramatically in the final years to 70%. Likewise, 50% of glass containers was reduced in the first year after which the figure decrease gradually and rose to 60% in 2010.
On the other hand, the recycling of aluminium cans only started in 1986 at about less than 10% and then reached a high peak of nearly a half in the last year. Similarly, the recycling of plastics only began in 1990 and marked a slight rise to approximately 10% in 2007.
