The graph below shows the three different kinds of emission sources (oil / coal / gas) of greenhouse gas in the UK. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant
The bar chart compares how many carbon emissions three fossil fuels emitted, being measured in million tons in UK from 1990 to 2010.
It is clear that the carbon emissions of gas for two out of the 3 emission sources rose each year, leading to a significant rise in total carbon emissions over the 7-year period. The figure for coal and oil experienced a downward trend in almost every year.
In 1990, the number of carbon dioxides being released by gas stood at around 230 million tons, while oil and coal emitted around 260 and 310 million tons of carbon emissions respectively. Over the next 10 years, the carbon emissions of gas surpassed its partners and rose by about 70 million tons, while the figure for oil and coal decreased to 240 and 270 million tons respectively.
In 2010, gas reached peaks of 330 million tons of carbon emissions. By contrast, the figure for oil and coal dropped to its lowest point, at around 210 and 190 million tons respectively.
