Some people believe that children should study all subjects at school, while others think they should only study subjects they are good at or find interesting. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
In this day and age, it is believed by some that students must learn all subjects at school while others believe students only need to study their favorite subjects or subjects they excel at. Although the former view may be true to a certain extent, I believe that students should focus on studying subjects they are passionate about or excel at academically.
On the one hand, there are various reasons why students should learn all subjects at school. Firstly, learning all subjects helps bring a wide range of knowledge to the learners. This is because they have to discover every aspect of life through subjects such as physics, literature, and math. As a result, students can have a more comprehensive understanding about the world and develop critical skills which can be used in many areas. Secondly, students can develop their time management skills when learning many subjects at one time. In other words, they have to separate time for different subjects and make sure that they can balance between these subjects. Therefore, this skill can be useful when they study at university or go to work where the workload can be overwhelming.
On the other hand, it is my firm belief that it is best for students to learn their favorite subjects or subjects they perform well in. To begin with, by doing this, students are less likely to be subjected to academic pressure. This is because when students study fewer subjects, the amount of time spent on studying will be lower, allowing more time for relaxation. Also, they may face less stress as they have to do a small number of exams. Secondly, it is easier for students to find a suitable career when they focus on certain subjects. This is due to the fact that when they spend the same amount of time on a smaller number of subjects, they will have more intensive knowledge in those fields, leading to higher chances of employment. For instance, it may be easier for students who major in natural science subjects to find a job in engineering than those studying all subjects including unrelated ones such as literature.
In conclusion, students can develop their time management skills and enhance their knowledge about the world when they learn all the subjects. However, I am firmly convinced that learning certain subjects brings greater benefits as they are under less stress and it is easier for them to find their suitable career.
