Government pay partly or all education fees
In this essay I would like to discuss on whether the government should pay partly or fully on the education of the students of the country.
In socialist economies government bear the total expenditure on education, which is called as the “Free Education”. This will ensure education to all students irrespective of the income level, nationality, religion of them. This initiative will ensure education even to the poorest people of a particular country. But this expenditure incurrs a lucrative portion of the National income which is difficult to be borne by a developing nation. Due to that reason governments has to limit the expenditure according to the budgetory allocation of a particular year. Therefore most of these countries either has to limit the number of scholarships given to the students or else they have to reduce the cost by reducing the value of the scholarship.
Therefore incurring part of the education expenditure will allow the government to use those funds to other sectors such as Health, Infrastructurte and Agriculture etc. Besides that government can cater more students and develop them to be suitable for the employee market with required skills and knowledge. This strategy would also enable the government to make a knowledge hub which is truly a sustainable investment option.
In conclusion governments at least has to bear a reasonable portion of the education expenditure because the intangible benefits to the society is not measurable in monetory terms. Educated societies inevitably are with less violence and riots than uneducated societies which is a universal truth.
