You recently recieved a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or try to get a job.You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
-say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
-explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
-suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her
Dear Mike,
I hope you' re doing well, its great to finally hear back from you! Its been quite awhile since our last trip to England ! We shared great memories together, and I hope that we could make another trip soon.
On your previous letter, you seem confused between choosing a job or going after college.I personally feel that college prepares you for an academic-based career and doesn't cater towards the current needs of the job market. You' d also be stuck in debt after graduation which could mean that you will end up paying that amount with interest.
Having a job after high school in fields such as Construction, Auto body, Plumbing, and Maintenance can be quite rewarding since the requirements to earn a certification is minimal with an on-the-job training focus. You could even end up owning your own business and gain good relations with your customers by earning referrals over time.
It's always better be self-employed and gain knowledge at a young age than waste time over a college degree, I hope to hear back from you
Warm wishes,
Jack Davis
