In 1985, watching TV was obviously the most preferred pastime while Other was chosen the least favored. Interestingly, with a decade passing by, European people seemed to remain the way they spent spare time: Watching TV still ranked top and Other received the least popularity. Meanwhile, a new genre of recreation appeared in the survey of 1995 with a rather large portion and ranked the second favorite spare-time activity.
In the survey of 1985, 32% of European residents enjoyed spending time watching TV, followed by 23% Eating Out, 21% Talking with Friends, 18 percent Talking with Family, and 6% on Other. Undergoing a slight reduction of 2% in adoration ten years later, it remained at top with 30 percent in the 1995 poll while rank shift happened among other activities.
Relaxation choices categorized into Other was the least favorite, having a humble share of 6% in 1985. Likewise, in the questionnaire conducted in 1995, this group once again lay at the bottom with a decline, dropping to 2 percent. One thing noticeable is that, Playing Computer Games as a renovate attraction occupied the lives of 27% of the Europeans.
