The supplied pie chart depicts four ways of energy production in New Zealand and Germany in 1980 and 2010. We can immediately see, that number of units have been almost same in both countries, however, there were no nuclear energy production in New Zealand.
In 1980, energy product from coal had significant proportion in both countries, when in New Zealand more than half (56 units). Natural gas for energy production have been used almost same in Germany as New Zealand, 28 and 30 per units respectively. When Hydro energy production was sharing same percentage with Natural Gas in New Zealand (30 units), petroleum and nuclear production have been the third most used source in Germany, 22 and 20 units respectively.
Getting back to the details, in 2010, coal production tripled in New Zealand (150 units), when in Germany, energy product in Nuclear power plant was 8 times more than in 1980 (155 units). Energy production from hydro sources was represented in 46 cases in New Zealand, when in Germany only 2 units. Natural gas have been used in both countries in only 2 units.
To sum up, each country showed big changes in energy production and focused on production in roughly three quoters to one main source for its production.
