The given line graph shows the differences of 4 commodities transported in the UK during the period 1974 to 2002. It is clearly seen from the given line graph is that there was an upward trend in the quantity of road transported in 1974 whereas there was a stability trend in the quantity of pipeline transported.
In general, from 1974 to 1978 witnessed a slight drop in the quantity of rail to 40 million of tonnes. After that, a gradual decrease was noticed in the quantity of road in 1982. In the opposite, a rapid rise was seen in the quantity of water from 40 to nearly 60 million tonnes at the same time.
Looking at the number of road, it was a moderate growth in the number of road transported between 62 and 82 million tonnes from 1982 to 1990. In other hand, the period from 1982 to 1990 saw a plateau in the number of the pipeline. The quantity of rail fluctuated dramatically from 25 to 22 million tonnes between 1986 and 1994. That was happened with the number of the road at the same time. From 1974 to 2002, the quantity of road reached a peak at 98 million tonnes and this is the highest number in that period
