The first chart below gives information about the money spent by British parents on their children’s sports between 2008 and 2014. The second chart shows the number of children who participated in three sports in Britain over the same time period.
The line graphs illustrate British parent’s spend for children’s sport activities each month in average and a number of kids who actually join in three types of sports which are football, athletics and swimming in seven years period. As can be seen from the graphs, sport’s spending for children seemed to increase dramatically from within seven years; in addition, football was considered to be the most popular sport compared to athletics and swimming.
From 2008 to 2014, average monthly spend in pounds is rising. The figure was exactly 20 pounds and after seven years it increased to approximately 32 pounds.
According to an amount of participation, the figure of football was outstanding two others. In 2008, there were around 8 million British children who played football while the figure of swimming was nearly 2.5 million and athletics’ data was almost insignificant. However, in 2014, the participation on athletics jumped to just under 5 million children.
