You have borrowed something from your friend, but it was damaged. Write a letter to your friend and say
- Apologize for damaging the product
- How was it damaged?
- What will you do about it?
Dear Mat,
How have you been? It has been a long time since we last met. I am writing to inform you that the wristwatch which I borrowed from you last year has been damaged in an accident. Firstly I would like to apologize and hope that you will not be angry with me as I know that the wristwatch was a special gift from your parents.
To elucidate the incident happened while I was travelling from rapid metro toward my house and on the way, an elderly woman smashed her luggage against my wrist while boarding damaging the dial and the lug of the watch. Although the lady apologized for it, however, the damage had already been done. I immediately took the watch to the local shop where the technician advised to take the wristwatch to the service centre.
Hence I will take the wristwatch to Seiko Authorized service centre where they will replace the dial and the lug. Don’t worry I will pay for repair cost and shall return you the wristwatch as soon as I have it?
I look forward to your response and hope to get the watch fixed soon.
Best regards
