You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he / she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
1. say why he / she would not enjoy going to college
2. explain why getting a job is a good idea for him / her
3. suggest types of jobs that would be suitable for him / her
Dear Mike,
Hope you are doing well. I have received your letter and I am glad to hear that you have completed your tertiary education. I can understand your situation and the tough choices you have to make as choosing further studies over the job or vice-versa can have implications for the rest of your life. Let me briefly explain.
To elucidate as you have recently finished your graduation thus going back in the same environment will not benefit you, in the long run, moreover, it will make your life monotonous. Additionally, I know that you don't come from a financially strong background hence pursuing your post-graduation would mean additional financial burden on your family. In my opinion, you should pursue a job and gain valuable work experience which would not only make your position financially strong but also enable you to qualify for admissions in reputed universities. As the trend suggests most of the students who have work experience are given priority by tertiary bodies while applying for the postgraduate program.
Lastly, since you are a computer graduate I would suggest to look out for a job in software design, development or testing as it will be more related to your subject of study.
I hope you take my advice seriously and would like to wish you success in your future endeavours.
Yours sincerely
Saad
