Write a report for a university lecturer describing the development of the village.

The provided diagram illustrates the expansion of chorleywood, a village near London, over a period from 1868 to 1994.

Overall, it can be seen that a village experienced development in four stages. In addition, by the end of the period chorleywood Park and Golf course was enclosed on four sides by main roads, motorway, and railway.

It is obvious from the map that the initially Chorleywood village was located on the right side of the main road, which goes from north to south. However, from 1883 to 1922 the village enlarged its territory to the north of the initial area. During this period, a new railway was built parallel to the main road, which goes from east to west. Moreover, due to this development, Chorleywood Station was constructed in the new area close to the railway. Between 1922 and 1970, area expanded to the south-east and south-west of the railway. At the end of this period a motorway, which was directed from north to south, was built. The final development occurred between 1970 and 1994. Regions on both sides of motorway were added to a village, making new territory of the area significantly larger than the initial one.
