The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030
The line graph illustrates the consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 predictions until 2030. Overall, except for hydropower, all kinds of energy provided in the graph show a similar upward trend during the period.
To begin with, Petrol and Oil occupied the biggest quadrillion units at roughly 40p.the consumption of petrol and oil stared at 35q in 1980 the fluctuated during the twenty-year- period and forecasted to rise steadily from around 37q in 200 0 to just under 50q in 2030. It is also interesting to note that a similar trend in coal and natural gas. In 1980, natural gas and coal stared at 20q and 15q respectively, then equaled in 1990 and 2015, and a steady increase is predicted in these two kinds of energy to around 25q in 2030.
A similar pattern is also noted on the consumption of nuclear and solar or wind in the USA, both stared at a low point around 5q then a slight increase is planned to reach approximately 7q in 2030. Hydropower made up the lowest usage under 5q the leveled off from 4q to 2q between 1980 and 2010 and remaining constant at approximately 2q.
