You are due to start a new job next week but you will not be able to because you have some problems.
Write a letter to your new employer. In your letter:
explain your situation
describe your problems
tell him/her when you think you can start
Dear sir or madam,
I am Harry Martin, appointed as an Accounts officer for your Greewich Branch. I was really excited to join the organisation and show my efforts and talent in terms of best work.Unfortunately, I would not be able to join on due date that is 26th june. I got stuck because of an unexpected medical emergency at my home. I am writing this letter to apologise for the same and request more time for joining.
Actually, Last week when my parents returned safely from holy journey of Budha Temple in Delhi, my mother suddenly got a heart stroke and we admitted her to AIIMS hospital, where initially her condition was very serious but doctors have confirmed that she is in stable condition now. However, she needs proper rest and care for next few months. As I am the only child of my parents, it is my duty to take care of my mother and make her fit and healthy as soon as possible.
I was really excited for my joining as the training part was very exciting and I wanted to face new challenges in my work but due to family conditions, I could not join on expected date. I hope you consider my family situation seriously and grant me to join your organisation next month.
I would be really grateful to you.
Your Sincerely,
Harry Martin
