The chart gives information about the amount of oil discovered worldwide from 1950 to 2020.
The bar chart illustrates the disparity in the amount of exploited oil on the global scale between 1950 and 2020.
Generally, during the first ten years, the figure experienced an upward trend, whereas throughout the rest of the described term, the figured had a downward trend.
Particularly, the amount of oil discovered in 1950 accounted at 20 billion barrels, before increasing to over 45 billion barrels in the preceded ten years, and reaching peak at 58 billion barrels in 1965. However, in 1970, the amount dropped significantly to 35 billion barrels, and then continued to decline by nearly ten billion barrels in 1980. It was recorded that there was around 15 billion barrels of oil exploited in 1985. that amount decrease substantially to 8 billion barrels during the next ten years. Therefore, there is a considerable increase in 2000 with 19 billion barrels of oil discovered in that years, but in 2015, the figure decreased dramatically to less than five billion barrels, prior to being predicted to drop by 1 billion barrels in 2020.
