The first map illustrates the present Islip town center and second portray the development plan.
Altogether, there will be more spots in the new town center. besides, some location will undergo demolition and replacement.
Presently, the town center has huge housing in the middle and south. Furthermore, there's the main road which runs from west to east and has shops along with it on either side. Moreover, there is a school and an enormous park which are connected to the main road by two divergences in the west and east. Further, there is the countryside beyond the main road.
According to the plan, a huge dual carriageway will be constructed causing the removal of the countryside and some part of the park. In addition, there will also be a pedestrians only pathway which replaces the main road and will have old shops along with it. However, the shops which were situated in the north of the previous main road will get replaced by a bus station, a big shopping center, a car park, and new housing. similarly, the former housing will get split into two sections and new housing right along the park. though, the school and park are kept at the same spot.
