The pie chart illustrates the information about the main reasons that decreased the productivity of agricultural lands. The table reveals different regions of the world that are affected by these causes in 1990.
From the pie chart it can clearly be seen that over-grazing had the highest rate in causing land degradation, 35%. It closely followed by deforestation, 30% and Just more than a quarter (28%) of causes belonged to over-cultivation. Other causes showed less effect on the land degradation in all across the world.
The table obviously showing deforestation with 9.8% was the most effective reason of land degradation in Europe, whilst North America and Oceania experienced lee loss from that. Over cultivation (7.7%) was second factor that affected on the land degradation in Europe, in addition this drawback did not show any impress in Oceania. Over grazing presented significant effect in Oceania (11.3%), while had fewer result reported in the other regions.
Overall, over- grazing was the most noticeable consequence on the land degradation throughout the world. Besides, Europe with 23% of land degradation was the most affected region.
