The table below gives information about consumer spending on different items in 5 different countries in 2002.
The comparison of three main consumer spending in five different countries during 2002 was illustrated in this table. Overall, the expenditure in dietary and tobacco witnessed the highest percentage, and Turkish’s consumption was the huge proportion compared to the rest of nations.
People who spent their expenditure for leisure and education purposes was a very small number, and the smallest percentage was in Spain (1.98%). The differences among the countries were only a slight proportion. Besides that, it was a minority who purchased for clothing and footwear whereby Italian spent about 9%, while the percentage of Turkish, Spanish, Irish and Swedish was less than one in ten.
However, this contrasted to the necessary of dietary and tobacco which experienced the highest percentage (no less than a fifth) in five countries. Although, the proportion of food, beverages and tobacco for Turkish and Irish were the highest, 32.14% and 28.91% respectively, while other countries just about no more than 19%.
