The pictures below show the changes that took place at Laguna Beach from 1950 to 1990.
The development of Laguna Beach during a four-year period is presented in the picture.
Overall, several facilities were developed and built as to tourism purposes while from year-to-year the Laguna Beach witnessed a significant change.
The most noticeable changes in Laguna Beach were the tourism facilities. This replaced beach huts in the initial year into villas (1970), and it became a huge hotel because in 1990 it was predicted to be increasing visitors. Another development was the car park in the east of the hotel which replaced the Caravan Park. Near the car park, a pool was built in order to attract more tourists, so the hotel’s guests could enjoy their leisure time without paying the entrance tickets.
In the west of hotel, the landscaped gardens was replaced the sand dunes which available since 1950, so that visitors could learn about the variety of plants. Moreover, before 1990 the road in the north-east was a small path, and it surrounded with woodland while the beach location showed no changes in the south-west of Laguna. Eventually, the surf school was opened as to facilitate the tourists who interested in surfing because this school took place near the sea.
