The line graph illustrates how many percentage of the population aged 65 and over in the period of 100 years from 1940 to 2040 in three different countries such as Japan, Sweden and USA.
Overall, all of three countries also had a significant upward trend, although Japan displays a downward trend in the short period of 20 years.
A glance at the chart provided reveals both USA and Sweden increased constantly and sharply made up about 15% in the year of 1980, which the rate of USA was slightly higher than that of Sweden. After that, Sweden will jump to the second rank in 2040, which will account for over 25%, compare to nearly 25% of USA.
In 1940, the percentage of the population aged 65 and over in Japan took up 5%, making it hold the last rank, in comparison with the others. However, Japan is predicted to become the highest the proportion of the population aged 65 and over in 2040, with nearly 30%.
