The graph illustrates the changes in population of India and China from the year 2000 and expected growth by the end of 2050. The population is calculated in billions for both the countries.
Overall, the population of India started from a very low point and later it crossed the population of china whether China’s population started from a level higher than that of India but still continued to maintain a constant pace and is expected to be lowered down in coming year.
India started with a population of 1,000 billion in the year 2000 which was less by about 250 million from China but later both the countries population started to grow with a constant speed. By the end of year 2010 India’s population experienced a growth of about 200 billion while China was having the growth of 100 billion approximately. Till 2020 the same trend is followed, India seemed to be approaching China.
After 2020, it is predicted that the total number of people in India will keep on increasing and by the end of 2030 this growth will reach an apex and both the countries will be having same population of 1,450 billion by then. In the next coming years the India’s population is expected to keep on growing and China’s count will be decrementing. By 2050, it is expected that China’s population will reach a down point of about 1,400 billion and India’s population will lead an extreme point of about 1,600 billion.
