The reading passage argues a theory which mentions to ability for fly of a sort of winged reptiles known as Pterosaur that were own huge size and weight and supports the argument base on three points. However, the professor clarifies his disagreement by explaining some reason for each mentioned points in the reading.
As a first reason, the professor argues the reading's first point which mentions that these kinds of animals categorize as cold blooded animals. The lecturer mentions that Pterosaur can be arrange in the warm blooded animals’ group which their features like high metabolism generates sufficient power to flight although cold blooded animal are lack of ability to produce enough energy due to low metabolism. So, inaccurate categorize the mentioned animal in the low metabolism animal aren’t convincing to reject the theory.
Secondly, the professor explains a special physical characteristic of these animals which makes flying feasible. However, the reading illustrates the heavy weight as a significant impediment to flight this group, with a bone in their body their high weight was docile in the flying due to lecturer’s mentioned point. Therefore, physical structure isn’t satisfying reason to repudiate this ability of these animals.
Thirdly, methods like jumping are mundane among birds that push to soar while Pterosaur’s fossilize depicts fragile legs and muscle that couldn’t maintain their weight to fly due to reading’s explanation. In contrast, base on the professor’s opinion using four legs can solve the problem. In the other words, the main differences between the birds and Pterosaur is the using of different part of body that birds’ hind lims are used but in the Pterosaur all four lims are useful to push.
