In general, the railway system in London is the oldest with the longest route while Los Angeles seems to hold the newest position occupying the shorter distance. Likewise, Kyoto has the shortest route that serves a fewer number of passengers amongst all.
With respect to the oldest network, London, established in 1863 has the lengthiest distance of 394 kilometres that serves 775 million passengers in a year. Whereas, Los Angeles, the modern system serving since 2001 has a distance of only 28 kilometres which facilitates 50 million people.
Similarly, the train network of Kyoto has managed to provide a facility to 45 million users after its establishment in 1981. It has a distance of just 11 kilometres. Among all these networks, Tokyo operating after 64 years of London has the route of 155 kilometres have the highest commuters servings of 1927 million.
