the chart below shows male and female fitness membership in Thailand between 1985 and 2015
The given bar chart demonstrates how many men and women joined in a fitness club measured in Thailand from 1985 to 2015.
Overall, although there were considerable fluctuations, the number of females tended to increase, meanwhile that of males decreased after a period of 30 years. However, the figures for both male and female participants reached the peak in 2010.
In 1985, it was noticeable that the quantity of male members in Thailand outnumbered that of females (2200 and 1300 people, respectively). Between 1985 and 1990, the proportions of gentlemen and ladies hitting a gym were an upward trend to 3800 and 1900 respectively and the numbers of males was at least twice as high as that for females. In the next 10 years, males going to a gym showed a considerable drop to 1800, while females were a slow decline in 1995, in contrast ,female members rose sharply and reached at 2800 in 2000.
Between 2000 and 2010, males taking part in the fitness club had a constant growth and reached the highest point at 5000 participants in 2010. Interestingly, there was a similar pattern of women from 1990 to 2000, especially, this amount peaked at 2950 members in 2010. In the last 5 years, the rates of all men and women witnessed a dramatic fall. Ladies dropped a third, while gentlemen went down one-fifth in the figure for members in 2010.
