• describe what went wrong with the meal and service
• suggest what the manager should do to ensure that you and your group return to the restaurant
Dear
I am writing to you to express my utmost dissatisfaction with the meal and service at your restaurant during my recent visit.
I am a member of the Rotary Club and the venue for our fortnightly meetings is your restaurant. We have always enjoyed the hospitality of your staff until recently where the food, as well as the service, was not up to the usual standard. For starters, we had ordered a platter of assorted vegetable bites. Unfortunately we were served the platter which was non-vegetarian. Some of us realised the mistake only after we had consumed the first bite. When we checked with the waiter, he insisted that the platter was vegetarian. We then had to call the chef who confirmed that there was an error in the order. All of us at the table are staunch vegetarians and have to undergo a special ritual to cleanse us from the sin of eating a non-vegetarian meal.
I would like to ask you to give us a complimentary meal for our next meeting which has been scheduled on 28th August. I expect the waiters will be extra careful to ensure we get what is ordered. Our order is usually standard and I don’t think this should be too difficult for your team to handle.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
XYZ
