Essay topics:

The two plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the park today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, make comparison where relevant.

The two plans show some changes that were made for the park and how it looks today. Overall, as can be seen from the plans, the basic layout of the park has been modified and new design elements have been added.
First of all, having looked at the two pictures, the most striking modification that took place is demolition of the fountain which was located in the middle of the area. Whereas, nowadays, the rose garden with seats on the sides has been built. In addition to this, the stage for musicians has been turned into the amphitheater for concerts and due to this change it was necessary to remove seats at the left side of the park as well as the rose gardens. The entrances at the both sides of the park have been unchanged but there was addition of another entrance which is located near the car park. Speaking about the top right side of the park, the cafe and the children’s play area have replaced the pond for water plants. Instead of the pond for water plants, the water feature, occupying the bottom right part, has been built.
