You have a visa appointment in an embassy, but something urgent came up.
Write a letter to the official in charge. In your letter:
-apologize for not being able to make the appointment.
-explain what happened.
-Request for an alternative arrangement.
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to apologize for missing my visa appointment on the 20th of December 2020 at the embassy.
My name is Lilian Okoye and I was scheduled to have a visa appointment with you last week Wednesday. Unfortunately, I could not make the appointment as something urgently came up and my absence was unavoidable.
To furnish you with more details, on the morning of the appointment, my Aunt collapsed and I had to quickly rush her to the hospital since she stays with me. She was immediately admitted and placed on medications. Moreover, I could not leave her at the hospital as I was the only available family member to stay with her. I stayed two nights while I waited for my mum to arrive and stay with her in my absence.
I understand how crucial this visa appointment is and therefore, I humbly request that you reschedule another appointment at your earliest convenience. Indeed, I would be very thankful if my request is considered as it is highly unlikely that there would be a recurrence of this situation.
Kindly forgive my absence and call me on my phone number as reflected in the attached document with a response. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Lilian Okoye.
