Maps
The maps illustrate some changes that were made in Youngsville in New Zealand from 1980 to 2005 for over 25 years.
It is clear that most trees and houses were transformed into infrastructures in 2005. And in the west of the map in 1980, 4 places were still kept until 2005 involving the building of a hospital, a school, an airport, and parking.
Looking at the changes in more detail, both maps were divided two sides by the River Alanah from 1980 to 2005. In the north, most main trees surrounding the lake had been replaced by car parking and a park. Furthermore, there is one more extra sailing activity added in the lake. Next to the lake, a stadium and one more parking were built and a list of houses along the river was converted into the railway station and the Maria port.
In the south of the map, while there was also a railway station remained from 1980, the woodland had entirely been changed into a new warehouse and factories. In the right corner of the map in 2005, skyscrapers were built to replace houses and trees in 1980.
